They were married under a chuppah in an outdoor ceremony in San Rafael, CA by Aaron Bock, former Bay Area BBYO Director, and recent oleh, or immigrant to Israel. The couple shared pieces from the text of their ketuba before fewer than 100 of the couple’s family and friends. They were escorted down the aisle by their parents, Burton Thompson, Joy Sobel, Steve Wavra, Sue Wavra and Thomas Dorsey, all of San Diego, CA. Rachel is the former Bay Area Director of Birthright Israel NEXT and now works as a consultant and coach in the Jewish community and beyond; Drew is a cinematographer. Based in Oakland, CA, they are expecting their first child in November. J. Correspondent Also On J. Food What makes Trader Joe’s new matzah different from all other matzah?
