Latke delivery to Peoples Park in Berkeley Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | December 13, 2013 Miriam Ferris, the wife of Rabbi Yehuda Ferris, serves up a tray of homemade latkes to a pair of unidentified People’s Park denizens on Dec. 5, the final day of Hanukkah. This year marked the first time Chabad of the East Bay handed out latkes in People’s Park, and Miriam deemed the tzedakah project a huge success: Throughout the eight-day holiday, several forays were made into the Berkeley park and some 500 latkes were distributed. “Whenever we arrived, their faces lit up and they were so thankful,” Miriam said.
