In Burlingame, Guenther Leopold poses with his daughter, Sue Schwartzman of the S.F.-based Jewish Community Endowment Fund, at a screening of the documentary “Rescue in the Philippines.” Leopold is one of 1,300 people who were relocated to the Philippines during the Holocaust, a seldom-told saga related in the film. The Dec. 9 screening at Peninsula Temple Sholom raised nearly $3,000 for the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation, which boosted its total to $62,000 raised for Typhoon Haiyan relief and rebuilding efforts.
