Dr. Eugene Shatkin celebrated his 90th birthday on Aug. 4. A resident of Marin County for more than 50 years, Eugene now lives in Charlottesville, Va., with his wife, Joyce. Eugene stays very active swimming and walking daily, reading and participating in book clubs, traveling, and keeping up with his five children, 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also reads J. weekly to keep up with all the Bay Area happenings and events. He is pictured here with his wife of 63 years, Joyce, and three of his grandchildren. ­­­
