French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said France will push a plan to submit to the United Nations Security Council a resolution on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Fabius, who in December said his country would wait for two years before unilaterally recognizing a Palestinian state, made the comment about the draft resolution while speaking to reporters March 27, the Associated Press reported.
“There is no other solution,” he said about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
France postponed a previous council resolution to await the results of Israel’s election.
Fabius said he didn’t know whether the United States would agree to the draft resolution. — jta
