He served in the Pacific theater of World War II as a Navy medic and attended Brooklyn College. He graduated from the Chicago College of Optometry in 1951 and practiced in Waukegan, Illinois. Gene leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Blanche, and four children, all physicians, Constance, Kenneth, Kathy and Daniel; Kathy Fields resides in San Francisco with husband Garry Rayant and children Richard and Mark. Gene also leaves 11 grandchildren. He was a philosopher, fighter, provider and lover of fun and adventure. Your legacy continues. J. Correspondent Also On J.
