Olga Kagan, 101, and decorated veteran Avrum Goldyak were among some 140 people — including Jewish veterans of the Soviet Red Army, former partisans and Holocaust survivors — commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe (VE Day) on May 8 in San Francisco. The seniors, most of them clients of Jewish Family and Children’s Services’ L’Chaim adult day health center, dined on Russian-style delicacies from Beli Deli and were entertained by the Skazka Children’s Theater.
