Jewish Family & Children’s Services of the East Bay has launched a new support group for people providing care for an elderly family member or friend. The group meets twice a month; new participants and drop-ins are welcome.

Nancy Rothschild, a licensed marriage and family therapist, facilitates discussions that will cover a variety of topics, including how to care for yourself while caring for another, managing stress and anxiety, setting realistic goals and expectations, and where to turn for help in the community.

The group meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of the month at the JFCS/East Bay Suse Moyal Center for Older Adult Services, 2484 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley. Cost is $25 per session, or on a sliding scale.

For more information, contact Rita Clancy, director of Adult Services, at (510) 558-7800 ext. 257, or email [email protected].

For general information about services for older adults in the area, call JFCS/EB’s Senior Information Line at (510) 558-7800 ext. 716.
