The Oakland A’s gave their Jewish Heritage Night fans something to cheer about on Aug. 4: a 5-0 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. A record 1,800 tickets were bought for the fifth annual game, which the A’s broke open by scoring four runs in the fifth inning — right after Temple Israel of Alameda member Mary Gold (left) blew the shofar.
