Netanyahu reportedly canceled an official visit to Germany to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic ties over the security situation in Israel.
The summit was scheduled for Oct. 8 in Berlin. A new date has not been set for the visit. Several Israeli government ministers were scheduled to travel to Germany with Netanyahu.
Sources in the German government told the Reuters news agency about the cancellation on Oct. 7, with Israeli officials confirming it to local news outlets.
Four Israelis have been killed in recent days in Israel, and more have fallen victim to stabbings and rock attacks by Palestinian assailants. At least two Palestinian assailants have also been killed, as well as two Palestinian teens. — jta
