Berlin’s Jewish Museum was closed for a day after the discovery of an unexploded bomb from World War II.
Some 11,000 people were evacuated from their homes near the museum on Oct. 25 as specialists worked to defuse the 550-pound American bomb, according to the German daily Tagesspiegel. The efforts were completed at 9 p.m. that evening.
The bomb was discovered Oct. 23 at a nearby construction site. — jta
