Hands-on Hanukkah. Holiday-themed arts and crafts, storytelling, raffle and appearance by Danny the Dreidel, for young children and their families. Co-sponsored by Big Tent Judaism and PJ Library. “Latke-It-Forward.” Event for interfaith families with children ages 2 to 7. Kids will hear a Hanukkah story, make shadow puppets with puppeteer Daniel Barash and deliver latkes to Moldaw residents, while parents explore holiday challenges with Rabbi Mychal Copeland. At Oshman Family JCC, 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto. 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. $36.

Hanukkah festival at Palo Alto JCC. Family fun with latkes and sufganiyot, a dreidel-spinning competition, hanukkiah and dreidel making and a candlelighting ceremony. At Oshman Family JCC, 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto. 3:30 p.m. Free, but bring an unwrapped, unopened gift for Hanukkah gift drive.

“Hooray for Hanukkah!” Family-friendly holiday event with food, crafts, storytime and the making of a canned-food menorah for charity. At Children’s Discovery Museum, 180 Woz Way, San Jose. 12 to 5 p.m. Included with museum admission, canned food donations welcome.
