Two would-be Palestinian stabbers were shot dead as they allegedly attempted to carry out attacks in the West Bank.

One assailant, identified by the Palestinian Ma’an news agency as Mamoun al-Khatib, 16, from the village of Doha near Bethlehem, reportedly approached people waiting for rides at the Gush Etzion junction while wielding a knife on Dec. 1.

One of the bystanders was injured, reportedly by a bullet fired at the attacker by security forces, according to the Israel police.

The junction has been the site of several stabbing and car-ramming attacks by Palestinians against Jewish Israelis in recent weeks.

Later that morning, a Palestinian woman, 19, from Nablus, attempted to stab an Israeli soldier at a checkpoint next to the Einav settlement in the northern West Bank, according to the Israeli Defense Forces. She was shot dead. — jta
