Correspondent | January 15, 2016 The Kohn Summer Intern Program, which pairs college undergraduates with Bay Area Jewish nonprofits, is accepting applications for its 2016 cohort. Sponsored by S.F.-based Jewish Vocational Service, the eight-week Kohn program compensates participants up to $3,000 for their services. In addition to J. the Jewish news weekly of Northern California, other local agencies that accept Kohn interns include the Jewish Community Relations Council, the Contemporary Jewish Museum, G-dcast and American Jewish World Service. The program is partially funded by the Eva Heller Kohn Fund of the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation. Heller Kohn, upon her death in 1961, left a fund of $750,000 to provide for Jewish services. The next Kohn program will run from June 17 through Aug. 12. The deadline for submitting applications is March 7.
