Three Bay Area rabbis will study in Jerusalem as members of the Rabbinic Leadership Initiative’s sixth cohort at the Shalom Hartman Institute.
Rabbi Emerita SaraLeya Schley of Chochmat HaLev in Berkeley, Rabbi Dan Goldblatt of Danville’s Beth Chaim Congregation and Rabbi Stephanie Kramer of Congregation Shomrei Torah in Santa Rosa are three of nine California rabbis, students and Christian leaders selected for the institute’s program.
The rabbis will study in Jerusalem for three weeks in the next three summers, 10 days during the winter and online on a regular basis during the academic year.
The three-year intensive Rabbinic Leadership Initiative immerses 25 to 30 North American rabbis in Jewish learning, the institute said in a news release.
