Movie classics, reimagined. Clarinetist David Krakauer, who likes to mix funk, hip-hop and avant-garde sounds with his klezmer and jazz roots, has a new project called “The Big Picture.” It’s a multimedia work for sextet (Krakauer and the 85mm Orchestra) that reimagines iconic movie music, such as the themes from “Schindler’s List” and “Chariots of Fire” and songs from several Woody Allen films. 4 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 at SFJazz Center, Miner Auditorium, 201 Franklin St., S.F. $30-$50. www.sfjazz.org
