Love for Israel in their voices: Jewish liturgical melodies, Israeli folk songs and traditional Japanese music all in the same concert? Yes, thanks to Makhelat Hashachar, or “Dawn Choir.” The singers, from dozens of churches across Japan, are members of the Japan Christian Friends of Israel. This concert comes five weeks into “Under One Tent,” a multi-month, multi-venue Jewish books and arts festival in Contra Costa County.
