Clarisse Irwin, born in 1915, fled Europe during Hitler’s rise to power. At 101 years old, she is now a resident of Rhoda Goldman Plaza, an assisted-living facility in San Francisco – and the star of an anti-Trump video that has been viewed more than 66,000 times.
Irwin is no Trump fan. “I lived through Hitler and I know what it is. And [Trump] reminds me too much of him,” she says in the video.
Hers is one of nine similar videos released through the Tomboy Cinema Facebook page under the tags #ImWithHer and #EldersforHillary.
Like so many in this election season, Irwin frames support for Hillary as a form of opposition to Trump. “She made mistakes, but not the ones Trump makes,” the centenarian says.
Irwin closes the video with a plea for everyone to vote: “Every vote makes a difference, and if you once have lived and you were not allowed to vote, you know what it feels, and you will never miss an election.”
