Sol and Ileana Farkas are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. They were married on Nov. 12, 1946, in Satu-Mare, Romania.

Not so blue Monday …Twenty years ago this week, Caren Karp and Rich Kline met during a YAD Blue Monday at Chalkers in San Francisco. The following Saturday, we enjoyed our first date at Michelangelo Café, and a couple of years later we were married at Sherith Israel. While the great San Francisco pool hall has closed, we are still going strong. We would like to send a special thank you to YAD and the Federation for introducing the two of us!
Mazel tov to Rube and Trudy Sherwin of San Francisco, who celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in August with their children and grandchildren. Rube is from the Bronx, New York, and Trudy is from Toledo, Ohio; they both had moved to San Francisco.
Rube and Trudy met at 300 Page St., the former single Jewish women’s residence where Trudy lived, and were married there on Aug. 25, 1946. They returned there with their family to renew their vows for their 60th anniversary.
Rube and Trudy were longtime members of Congregation Ner Tamid, and they now look forward to more family celebrations. L’Chaim!
