Staff | March 10, 2017 Thanks in part to an innovation grant from the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation, JCC Maccabi Sports Camp will launch a new Jewish day camp option for Bay Area families this summer. The Peninsula JCC in Foster City and the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto will offer the weeklong camps for students in grades 3-6. Founded in 2014, JCC Maccabi Sports Camp now offers both day and resident camp options guided by Jewish values. “For us, it’s simple: More kids in quality Jewish camp experiences will contribute to a more vibrant Jewish community in the future,” said Wendy Verba, senior program officer at the JCF. “This day camp model is an exciting innovation that will generate new revenue to help sustain the larger camp, while providing a pipeline of future overnight campers who might never have chosen Jewish overnight camping,” J.
