On April 29, 2007, Shoshana Kane and Stephen Aaron Silver were married. After ten years and two amazing miracles (their children Sammy and Sophie), Shoshana and Stephen are still in love, sharing their life journey together. They send their heartfelt thanks to Rosie and Shel Past, who conspired with Stephen’s mom Phoebe to bring them together; to Rabbi Gordon Freeman and Hazzan Marc Dinkin, who officiated at the wedding ceremony; to all of their family and friends who shared their special day of joy; and to Judith Kane and Samuel R. Silver, who were there in spirit and lovingly remembered.

It is with great joy that Carol Reif and Jeffrey Gilman (Lafayette) announce the March 14, 2017 birth of their first grandson, Graham Ezra Gilman. His arrival has thrilled his parents Claire Schreiber and Lee Gilman of Baltimore, MD and his grandparents Penny and Paul Schreiber of Ypsilanti, MI.

Two hearts were joined in love in charming Huntington Beach on April 15, 2017. The Red Horse Barn sparkled in the early evening as Danielle and Todd exchanged vows. They each had six attendants including the bride’s two sisters,

Victoria and Elise, and the groom’s sister Shanna. The junior bridesmaid was Christina Villa and the flower girl was Olivia Krassner.

The bride is the daughter of Melanie Rudee and Joseph Villa. Grandparents are Valerie Rudee and the late Robert Rudee and Judy and Joseph Villa, Sr.

The groom is the son of Karen and Peter Babiak and the grandson of Al Babiak and the late Jean Beam.

A “mini-moon” is planned in San Diego. The couple is residing in Torrance, California.

Talia Shahna Salzman and Frank Aaron Schiff were married on March 26, 2017, at Congregation Beth David.  Rabbi Philip Ohriner officiated. The reception followed at the San Jose Woman’s Club.  On the Shabbat preceding the wedding, the couple had their aufruf at Congregation Sinai in San Jose where Rabbi Joshua Berkenwald officiates. The groom is a third-generation member of Congregation Sinai.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Salzman of Saratoga and the granddaughter of Zina Kharag of San Francisco. Talia earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and her Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois in Chicago. She works in the field of maternal and child health.
The groom is the son of Amy and Daniel Schiff of San Jose. He is the grandson of Ruth and Alfred Sporer of San Jose and Ed Schiff of Boca Raton, Florida. Frank earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.  Frank works at Quantcast in San Francisco.

Frank and Talia met in 1999 at Yavneh Day School in Los Gatos, California and continued on to middle school together at Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School in Palo Alto. Following a honeymoon in Maui, the couple resides in Alameda, California.
