JCRC honors three for leadership at ‘Behind the Scenes 2018’

The San Francisco-based Jewish Community Relations Council will honor three community members at its “Behind the Scenes 2018” event on Feb. 27.

Dr. Tricia Gibbs, who with her husband founded the San Francisco Free Clinic in 1993, will receive the JCRC Jewish Civic Leadership Award “for her extraordinary dedication to improving the quality of life for all, and for bridging the Jewish and civic communities.”

Retired Army Col. D. Peter Gleichenhaus will receive the JCRC Distinguished Leadership Award after having led the organization’s Hiring Our Heroes project to match returning Bay Area veterans with jobs.

The JCRC Innovative Leadership Award will go to Julie Hammerman, founder and executive director of JLens. The organization, with headquarters in San Francisco and New York, focuses a Jewish lens on investments by considering social and environmental impact in addition to financial return.

The event will be held at the San Francisco War Memorial Veterans Building at 401 Van Ness Ave. For information, call (415) 977-7444 or contact [email protected].
