Staff | December 13, 2018 After many months’ delay, Israel’s national airline, El Al, will finally begin nonstop flights between San Francisco and Tel Aviv, starting in May 2019. The three weekly flights will be on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and El Al is offering economy, premium and business class seating. The airline first announced the routes in January, hoping to launch in the fall of 2018. El Al will also launch the first nonstop flights between Las Vegas and Tel Aviv, starting next June. With its new route, El Al joins United Airlines, which introduced nonstop flights between Israel and SFO in March 2016 following a months-long petition campaign by Bay Area travelers, many of them Israeli entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. United officials said the petition played a role in the company’s decision to add the route. J. Staff Also On J.
