This museum is a unique combination of Judaica and residents’ artwork, and is a member of the Council of American Jewish Museums. The core collection of Judaica, displayed in glass cases throughout the common areas, originated from the collection of Ruth Eis, founding curator of the Magnes museum, and is periodically changed to reflect Jewish events and holidays. Three shows throughout the year feature residents’ artwork, displayed on common-area walls, two of which are OMA, Opening Minds through Art, and AWE, Art with Elders, a Bay Area-wide compilation of seniors’ artworks from 35 institutions.
