The Institute on Aging is a full-service health and home care service provider. They work to enhance quality of life for aging adults and adults living with disabilities, to enable seniors to maintain their health, well-being, independence and participation in the community, and help clients live at home for as long as possible. They offer education, support in many forms including financial referrals, and Friendship Line California, a free crisis intervention hotline.

JFCS Seniors At Home

The S.F.-based JFCS’ Seniors At Home program, which serves San Francisco, the Peninsula and the North Bay, has offered in-home care since 1988, serving 16,000 clients annually by providing personal care and light housekeeping, cooking, shopping and companionship. The agency also provides palliative and end-of-life care, conservatorship services and caregiver support.

Once again, Home Care for Seniors, a program of JFCS East Bay, is honored with a J. Readers’ Choice award. Launched in 2013, the program provides services in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. It offers culturally sensitive care that incorporates Jewish traditions. In addition to personal care, light housekeeping, companionship and transportation, the agency also provides social workers who make home visits to seniors.
