Caldwell Snyder Gallery

Caldwell Snyder is a contemporary gallery with international reach, “representing a roster of over 50 artists from the U.S., Europe, and Latin America, with a focus on innovative painting and sculpture.” Shows change monthly at the gallery, which was founded in 1983 in SoMa, the gallery is now a Union Square landmark.

A fine art gallery located in midtown Oakland and a new winner in Readers’ Choice, Joyce Gordon Gallery exhibits art that reflects the social and cultural diversity of the Bay Area and international artists. “Chronicles of Our Culture,” photographs by John Simmons that he characterizes as “a visual diary of where I’ve been and who I am,” closes Nov. 27.

Located in the Koret Learning Center hall, the art gallery at the PJCC showcases the works of talented Jewish artists and presents exhibits that explore Jewish values, themes and ideas. Artist Lynn Rae Lowe’s “Illuminations: Aleph to Tav,” featuring paintings, Judaica and sculpture, is on display through Jan. 3.
