A fine art gallery located in midtown Oakland and a new winner in Readers’ Choice, Joyce Gordon Gallery exhibits art that reflects the social and cultural diversity of the Bay Area and international artists. “Chronicles of Our Culture,” photographs by John Simmons that he characterizes as “a visual diary of where I’ve been and who I am,” closes Nov. 27.

Artist Lynn Rae Lowe’s “Illuminations: Aleph to Tav,” featuring paintings, Judaica and sculpture, is on display through Jan. 3.
