Founded in 1897, this nonprofit provides interest-free loans to help Jewish individuals and others in Northern California overcome financial challenges and pursue life dreams. Loan types include student, business, debt consolidation, health care, unemployment, fertility, environmental, and much more. Almost 100% of loans are repaid, with those funds recycled to provide new loans.

One of the oldest and largest human service agencies in the U.S., JFCS is considered “the problem-solving center” for the Bay Area. Founded in 1850, the agency works to strengthen individuals, families and communities through more than 40 programs, including home care for seniors, therapy for children, youth volunteer programs and much more.

Shalom Bayit works to foster social change to eradicate domestic violence and serves abuse survivors of all genders and sexual orientations. As Northern California’s first and only Jewish agency dedicated to ending domestic violence, Shalom Bayit programs include counseling, community education and a dating violence-prevention program for Jewish youth.

Founded in 1877 mainly to help Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe, JFCS East Bay today is a direct social and human services organization that supports Alameda and Contra Costa residents of all ages, races and religions. The agency focuses on immigration and refugee services, with special programs for Ukrainians and Afghans, as well as older adults, Holocaust survivors, and mental health needs of children and youth.
