On Feb. 28, employees at the Peninsula JCC in Foster City donned blue ribbons to mark Rare Disease Day and to support the center’s member services director, Becka Boscarino (center), whose son, Magglio, was diagnosed with Pompe Disease at 6 months. The disease, which affects one in 40,000 newborns, disables the heart and skeletal muscles. Fellow PJCC employees Linda Maule (left), and Dawn Greenblatt, along with more than 30 others not pictured, also wore ribbons. For more information, visitwww.rarediseaseday.org.
