The JCC of San Francisco and its online companion, 3200 Stories, have launched a new event series that will feature comedian Nato Green in conversation with Jewish writers and others.
“The Nato Sessions: Live Conversating & Podcastery with Famous Smart People” will take place on four consecutive Mondays at 7 p.m. at San Francisco’s Stage Werx Theatre. Conversations will be broadcast online at www.3200stories.org.
The first conversation, on Monday, April 8, will be with Gerard Jones, author of “Men of Tomorrow” and comic books such as “Green Lantern” and “Batman.”
Green, a San Francisco native known for his acerbic political humor, is the creator of “Iron Comic,” the Iron Chef-spoofing comedy game show he co-hosts with fellow Bay Area comedian Moshe Kasher, and in 2012 he toured nationally as one-third of the stand-up comedy show “Laughter Against the Machine.”
“3200 Stories loves working with Nato Green,” said Dan Wolf, creative content producer at the JCC. “His work combines a scathing look at the powers that be coupled with an investigation of West Coast Jewish identity, which we feel is the perfect blend for our inaugural voyage into the land of podcasts.”
Upcoming guests will include local authors Ayelet Waldman (best known for the “Mommy Track” series) on April 15, Helene Wecker (“The Golem and the Jinni”) on April 29, and veteran political comedian Mort Sahl on April 22.
Tickets for the live shows are $15 each or $40 for all four. The Stage Werx Theatre is located at 446 Valencia St. in San Francisco. For information, visit www.jccsf.org.
