The effects of stroke can range from mild to severe, reversible to permanent. Some people recover completely from strokes, but more than two-thirds of survivors will have residual dysfunction.
A free seminar designed to educate the community about supporting stroke survivors in all phases of stroke care will be held Thursday, April 11, in Palo Alto. Called “How To Navigate Your Post-Stroke Recovery Journey,” the two-hour session begins 4:30 p.m. at La Comida of Avenidas, 450 Bryant St., Palo Alto.
Hosting the event is Care Indeed, which provides non-medical in-home care and related services, in collaboration with the Pacific Stroke Association, elder care services nonprofit Avenidas Village, and SanBio Inc., a Mountain View-based developer of regenerative therapies.
Seminar focus areas include emergency 911, hospitalization and rehabilitation, case management/fiduciary matters, home care, nutrition and exercise.
