Shalom Bayit, the Bay Area–based center that aims to eradicate domestic violence in the Jewish community and beyond, is celebrating its 21st anniversary next week with its annual Creating Hope dinner.
The event’s theme is “guiding youth to healthy futures.” It will raise funds for programs that support battered women and their children, and for the many education programs supported by Shalom Bayit, which means “peace in the home.”
Esta Soler, founder and president of Futures Without Violence, will be in conversation with Oscar-winning filmmaker Jeffrey Brown, whose next film, “SOLD,” is about child trafficking. Other events include a presentation by Sarah VanZanten, a teen dating violence prevention educator, a raffle and silent auction.
The event is set for 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 8 at the JCC of San Francisco, 3200 California St., S.F. Tickets are $118. For more information, visit www.shalom-bayit.org or call (510) 451-8874.
