By suggestion of the rabbi

The concept for the new art exhibit at Congregation Emanu-El was suggested by outgoing Rabbi Stephen Pearce. Therefore, “Traditional By Conception, Modern By Design” is being presented in the rabbi’s honor. It opened May 31 and includes contemporary Judaica from an array of local and overseas artists, many of whom have been shown in museums around the world.

Through Sept. 16 at Congregation Emanu-El, 2 Lake St., S.F. Free. In the foyer, reception area and corridor. www.emanuelsf.org/museum or (415) 751-2535
