Looking to get feedback about where grant dollars should be targeted, the Jewish Federation and Jewish Com-munity Foundation of the East Bay is trying something new this year by scheduling a pair of “community planning tables.”
The first is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 3 at Congregation B’nai Tikvah in Walnut Creek and the second will be Oct. 10 at Temple Sinai in Oakland. Both are slated to run from 7 to 9 p.m., and dessert and coffee will be offered.
The two gatherings “represent the first step in the execution of federation’s strategic plan,” Rabbi James Brandt, CEO of the federation, wrote in an email. “Soliciting feedback directly from our stakeholders in this way is a new strategy for us. We are fortunate to live in a community with so many flourishing Jewish organizations, and are looking forward to hearing from Jews in the East Bay about their interests and priorities as we make decisions about where to focus our grant dollars in the coming year.”
Officials will be seeking feedback on how those dollars should be divided among Israel, leadership development, community leadership, teen engagement, Birthright Israel and other areas.
