The Jewish Coalition for Literacy, which helps Bay Area elementary schoolchildren learn to read, has started a new round of three-hour training sessions for new tutors. No experience is necessary.

Tutors are asked to work one hour a week with a disadvantaged student in grades K-3. JCL recruits, trains, places and supports tutors in schools and after-school programs throughout the Bay Area.
