Nine local nonprofits, agencies and programs that serve the Bay Area’s Russian Jewish community have been given grants from the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation’s Russian Jewish Community Impact Grants Initiative (IGI). Grantees will each receive between $2,000 and $7,000.
Grantees are: the children’s kashrut program at AlephBet School of Congregation Ner Tamid in San Francisco; the art-oriented Alligator Studios of the Jewish Study Network in Palo Alto; the Beth Am Émigré Program of Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills; the Raising Jewish Children program at the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto; Club Z of Rimon Club for Jewish teens; and Ogonëk of Rimon Club for Russian-speaking Jewish teens.
Additional grantees are Theater “YOU,” Inc.; Speak Memory, a Jewish LearningWorks project that documents stories of Russian Jewry throughout the 20th century; and the Russian Jewish Moishe House in San Francisco.
