Jessica Rubin and Benjamin Solarz will be married Oct. 17. Jessica is a resident at UCSF Medical Center, and Benjamin is a principal at SPO Partners, a Mill Valley-based investment firm. She is the daughter of Ken and Jane Tzinberg Rubin of Frontenac, Missouri, and he is the son of Alan and Julie Rosenblum Solarz of Rye Brook, New York. Jessica is the granddaughter of Shirley (the late Marvin) Tzinberg and Maurine (the late Mahlon) Rubin, all of St Louis.

Jessica earned a B.A. in biomedical engineering from Yale University, an M.D. at Weill Cornell Medical School, as well as a master’s degree in public health from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Her fiancé earned his B.A. 

in economics at Yale University, where they met freshman year, but they started dating several years later in New York City when Benjamin was working for Blackstone Group, across Park Avenue from McKinsey & Co., where Jessica was working. The night before Jessica graduated from medical school, Benjamin surprised her with an engagement ring, limousine and champagne, en route to her graduation party, where family and friends were waiting.
