Congregation Beth Israel Judea in San Francisco was one of 150 synagogues around the country to hold a Pink Shabbat program last week. The programs were coordinated by Sharsheret, a national nonprofit that supports Jewish women facing breast cancer.
Another program being held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month is scheduled for 12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Temple Isaiah, 945 Risa Road, Lafayette. Dr. Tiffany Svahn of Diablo Valley Oncology will discuss the elevated risk of breast cancer in Jewish women. The program is free, but an RSVP to [email protected] is requested.
