Onward Israel, a Tel Aviv-based summer internship program, invites Bay Area students and young professionals to apply.
The Northern California Bay Area program is intended for people ages 19 to 27 who have had a previous short-term Israel experience, such as Birthright Israel or a teen travel program.
The eight-week program, from June 23 to Aug. 18, is offering what it describes as “high-level” placements at a business or agency, based on the applicant’s skills, interests and future plans. Interns will work four days a week and spend one day a week with other participants from the Bay Area, visiting nongovernmental agencies and exploring Israeli society.
The S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation is supporting the program, which is operated through a partnership of the Beacon and Shapiro foundations, the Jewish Agency for Israel, the Koret Foundation and other philanthropies.
The $500 fee will include lodging and some food, and participants will pay for travel to and from Israel. The application deadline is March 15. For more information, visit www.onwardisrael.com/category/bay-area or email [email protected].
