Palestinian Authority sources said it was unlikely the students in custody would be put on trial, for fear of triggering mass riots.
The university was closed for three days following the Jospin incident. When school reopened March 1, students and professors refused to hold classes and students began a sit-in to protest the arrests. They have been sleeping in the university’s classrooms and hallways.
