The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco and San Francisco Jewish Film Festival are collaborating to bring “JFF@JCCSF” to the JCC’s new Eugene and Elinor Friend Center for the Arts.
Starting off the series at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 is “Blacks and Jews,” a 1996 documentary about black and Jewish relations in America. The following month, Barry Levinson’s “Liberty Heights” screens at 8 p.m. March 16, and “Chants of Sand and Stars,” an exploration of the music that accompanies Jewish liturgy around the world, shows at 8 p.m. March 30.
“Almost Peaceful,” examining a group of Jewish tailors and seamstresses returning to post-war Paris, shows at 2 p.m. April 11. The first three episodes of the Israeli TV series “Florentene” screen at 8 p.m. April 13, followed by the next three episodes at 8 p.m. April 20.
The three events in May are “Rothschild’s Violin” at 8 p.m. May 4; “Area K” at 8 p.m. May 18, and “Motel the Operator” at 2 p.m. May 30. The series closes in June, with “Baghdad Bandstand” at 8 p.m. June 8, “Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter” at 2 p.m. June 13; and “My Architect” at 8 p.m. June 22.
