The following day at noon Dr. Joycelyn Elders will talk about her life as the great-granddaughter of slaves who became U.S. surgeon general and resigned amid controversy.

At 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 playwright Neil Simon will chat about his latest book, “A Memoir.”

At 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 Scott Turow will discuss his novel “The Laws of Our Fathers.”

At noon Friday, Oct. 25 actor-songwriter Steve Allen will talk to KRON’s Jan Wahl about his book “But Seriously…”

Chef Narsai David will interview chef Julia Child and Alice Medrich, who founded the dessert company Cocolat, at noon Friday, Nov. 15.

At 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 Kay Redfield Jamison will discuss manic-depressive illnesses from her book “An Unquiet Mind.”

Finally, Chaim Herzog — Israeli president from 1983 to 1993 — will talk about his book “Living History” at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20.
