Genesis series inspires synagogue discussion
Ten panel discussions on the PBS series “Genesis: A Living Conversation” will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Congregation Kol Emeth, 4175 Manuela Ave., Palo Alto. Tuition is $50.
Ongoing classes at the synagogue include Introduction to Judaism at 8 p.m. Mondays and sessions for new arrivals from the former Soviet Union at 7 p.m. the third Thursday of each month.

Reservations are due for Asilomar event
Reservations are being accepted for the seventh Biennial Older Adult Conference Nov. 17 to 19 at Asilomar on the Monterey Peninsula.
Speakers will include Rabbi Michael Barenbaum, scholar in residence; Jeff Friedman, dancer and performance artist; Andy Abrahams Wilson, producer of documentary film “Bubbah Lee & Me”; Bonnie Burt, filmmaker and author of “Stories from Jewish Cuba”; Anna Halprin, dance videographer; and Sheila Braufman, curator of painting at the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley.
The conference is being directed by the Montefiore Senior Center of San Francisco and the Marin, Peninsula and Albert L. Schultz Jewish Community Centers.
