“Our goal is to keep the light of education burning brightly this Chanukah season for families who have been displaced due to domestic turmoil in their lives,” says Project REACH chair Mara Kahn.
Needed items include educational toys and materials, school supplies, new or used children’s books and videos, and books and manuals on parenting, career or personal development.
Collection runs from Friday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 1 at the following East Bay locations:
In Oakland, collections are at Temple Sinai, 2808 Summit St.; Temple Beth Abraham Congrega-tion, 327 MacArthur Blvd.; and Beth Jacob Congregation, 3778 Park Blvd. In Walnut Creek, bins are at Congregations B’nai Shalom, 74 Eckley Lane; B’nai Tikvah, 25 Hillcroft Way and Ohr Emet and Contra Costa Jewish Community Center, 2071 Tice Blvd. In Danville, the bin is at Congregation Beth Chaim, 1027 Diablo Road, and in Lafayette at Temple Isaiah, 3800 Mount Diablo Blvd.
