Seder art
Oakland artist Alan Leon recently won third prize in the biennial Philip and Sylvia Spertus Judaica Competition for his African Yam Boat Seder Plate, made of ebony, holly, glass and abalone. The prize, established in 1994, promotes appreciation of the artistic and functional possibilities of Judaic ceremonial art and design.
