Comedy Central’s “The Sarah Silverman Program” returns for a new season Oct. 8 at 10:30 p.m. A second premiere episode will air Oct. 9 at the same time.

Silverman’s new season comes on the heels of a much-watched video she made for The Great Schlep, a project of JewsVote.org. The four-minute video features Silverman addressing anyone with grandparents in Florida to go to the Sunshine State to convince their bubbe and zayde to vote for Barack Obama.

“The Sarah Silverman Program” will once again focus on Silverman’s identically named alter ego and her absurd daily life, as told through narrative and the occasional song. The premiere episode will include guest spots by Garry Marshall and Missi Pyle, along with the usual supporting cast of Laura Silverman, Steve Agee, Jay Johnston and Brian Posehn.

In addition, “The Sarah Silverman Program Season Two: Volume One” DVD will be released Oct. 14. For more information on the show, visit www.comedycentral.com.
