High school students can now earn college credits by taking online courses at JerusalemOnlineU.com.

Previously available only to college students, high schoolers can earn three college credits by taking JerusalemOnlineU’s Israel Inside/Out or Positive Psychology and Judaism courses. The courses are accredited by Touro College.

Israel Inside/Out is a film-based course on the history, politics and sociology of Israel, taught by Middle East experts such as professor Alan Dershowitz and Sir Martin Gilbert. Positive Psychology and Judaism, taught by Harvard lecturer Tal Ben-Shahar, combines the study of Jewish wisdom with the new field of positive psychology.

According to Amy Holtz, president of JerusalemOnlineU, the courses were opened to high school students to allow them to learn more about Judaism and Israel prior to entering college. “There is so much misleading information about Israel out there,” she said. “We want to set the record so that high school and college students can sift through the myths and truth about Israel on their own.”
