Stuart was a past board member of Camp Newman in Santa Rosa and worked as the Camp Newman psychologist during the summer. He also taught religious school for many years at various congregations.
Stuart met the love of his life, Elizabeth, in 1992, when both were working for Nordstrom. One of Stuart and Elizabeth’s first dates was riding a tandem bicycle from Marin to Monterey. Stuart and Elizabeth were married on August 18, 1996, welcomed daughter Abigail on December 4, 2002, and made homes in Novato, Benicia and Corte Madera. Stuart cherished his life with Elizabeth and Abigail.
Stuart was truly a kind and gentle soul and had an infectious personality. Stuart had an amazing gift relating to kids and teens, was everyone’s “best friend,” could tell a joke like no one else, loved cooking, dogs, road trips and exploring the outdoors. Stuart was an avid skier, hiker, and bicyclist. At the time of his death, Stuart was preparing for a 100-mile bicycle race. Stuart’s presence was a gift to all who knew him and he will be forever missed. May Stuart Brotman’s light remain in our hearts and may his memory be a blessing.
