Cinema City, northern Israel’s biggest entertainment and recreation center, will open in Haifa in 2013.

Some $168 million will be invested in the new center, which will stretch over nearly 900,000 square feet and include 25 cinemas. There will also be four theaters (offering around 6,000 seats) and a commercial floor with a variety of restaurants, cafés and stores.

In addition, an amusement park will be built outside the center.

“We are talking with Disney about the possibility of getting some devices from them, but there is no certainty that the place will be operated with a Disney franchise,” said Leon Edery, one of the owners of New Lineo Cinema, which owns Cinema City complexes in Herzliya and Rishon  LeTzion.

Edery said that the new center will provide 1,000 jobs for the area’s residents. — ynetnews.com
