Rabbi Irvin Ungar, an authority on prominent Polish-Jewish artist Arthur Szyk, will be discussing the Syzk Haggadah  at four upcoming Bay Area appearances.

The newly updated edition of the Haggadah, originally created in the mid-1930s as Syzk witnessed the rise of Nazi Germany, reproduces Syzk’s colorful illustrations and calligraphy.

Ungar, of Burl-ingame, will appear 7 p.m. Sunday, March 27 at Book Passage, 51 Tamal Vista Blvd., Corte Madera; 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 at Books Inc., 1375 Burlingame Ave., Burlingame; 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at Rakestraw Books, 522 Hartz Ave., Danville; and 5:30 p.m. April 14 at Afikomen Judaica, 3042 Claremont Ave., Berkeley.
