The Jewish National Fund’s team will bicycle in this year’s Israel Ride — cycling from Jerusalem to Eilat to raise money for environmental research.
The weeklong educational bike tour in November supports the Arava Institute — the desert campus in the southern Negev where Arab and Jewish students work together on environmental research. It is affiliated with Ben-Gurion University. The ride also supports Hazon, which focuses on food justice and the environment.
Aaron Parker, the JNF regional director for Northern California and the Pacific Northwest, will give presentations during September about the ride. The 7 p.m. talks are open to the public, and will take place Thursday, Sept. 8 at the Oshman Family JCC, 3921 Fabian Way, room E104, Palo Alto; Sept. 14 at Congregation Kol Shofar, 215 Blackfield Drive in Tiburon; and Sept. 15 at the JCC of San Francisco, 3200 California St.
